Hywel Dda University Health Board has teamed up with ORCHA (The Organisation for the Review of Care and Health Apps) to select several safe digital health apps to support your health this winter. Cold weather and winter bugs can affect us all, but there are ways we can take action to try and keep well through the winter months.


Here is a selection of apps chosen to help you manage common health concerns for this time of year. Apps can be a great source of information, advice and motivation.

SilverCloud - Making Space for Healthy Minds

SilverCloud provides a wide range of supportive and interactive programmes, tools and tactics for mental and behavioural health issues. These programmes address wellbeing, life balance, time management, communication skills, goal setting, communication and relationship management, anger management, stress management, relaxation and sleep management, among many others. 

Silvercloud content is entirely evidence-based and follows best practice in its delivery. Rigorous research has been conducted to identify the most appropriate foundation for this effective and evidence-based content.
We're excited to inform you that the cost of this health app is now FREE for your benefit and available to all Hywel Dda Health board patients.

Apps to help you manage your diabetes

Digital health apps to support prevention, treatment, care and management of diabetes are rapidly evolving. Digital health tools can improve a person's diabetes management routine by streamlining care and support. Together with ORCHA (Organisation for the Review of Care and Health Apps), Hywel Dda University Health Board have selected several apps to help and support you manage your diabetes.

Enabling and improving access to digital applications to support our clinical teams and patients with their health and wellbeing

Working in partnership with ORCHA (Organisation for the Review of Care and Health Apps), Hywel Dda University Health Board Digital have created a Digital Health Application library where clinicians can recommend apps to patients and patients can find apps to support their health and wellbeing with reassurance that they are genuine and have been reviewed by the clinical community. ORCHA review such apps against 350+ criteria relating to Clinical/Professional Assurance, Data and Privacy, and Usability and Accessibility.

Although apps can be a great way to manage health and wellbeing, there are thousands out there so finding the right one can be confusing and knowing which ones have been created with clinical input difficult. The app store will assist clinicians and patients search and compare apps that are safe and effective.

Health applications can be a great way to manage health and wellbeing and can help support patients and service users with common health challenges.
